Our GMA Kinya Hashimoto, a photographer and journalist who covers Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, has sent in word that all is well with him and his family.
At the moment the 8.9-on-the-Richter scale earthquake that shook Japan struck last Friday, Kinya was covering the Jewels event, in Tokyo.
Over Facebook, Hashimoto posted a photo of his room showing the tremendous force of the quake.
The quake that hit on Friday is being considered the greatest natural disaster in the history of the country.
More than 1,200 have been confirmed to be dead and thousands more have disappeared.
The quake struck a few kilometers off the northeastern coast of Japan, near the city of Sendai.
A tsunami swept through the coastal cities after the quake.
