The 2014 IBJJF San Francisco Open on Feb. 9 has reached full capacity and closed registration. The one-day tournament will be held at the Kezar Pavillion where athletes from white to black will determine their results.
In the black belt category, GMA Institute of Martial Arts has covered over half the brackets while Gianni Grippo, Leo D’avila and two others have entered as well.
Another aspect of the tournament is the rules seminar to be held one day prior. Anyone can register and attend for the meeting that will discuss the rules of the IBJJF and ensure that you understand them. As part of completing the course you will receive a certification. The seminar will be held on Feb. 8 at Ralph Gracie Academy located not far from the venue. Bring your membership ID if you have it or a valid picture ID and register before the day of the seminar for a reduced rate. It will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
