Change of plans in the UFC cards for August. Initially scheduled to feature in UFC 202, the fight between BJJ black belt Demian Maia and Carlos Condit was rescheduled and promoted to the main event of UFC Canada.
Before, Demian and Condit were to face in the August 20 event, whose main bout will feature Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, in a duel also in the welterweight division. Now, they lead UFC Fight Night 21, which is set for the 27th of the same month in Vancouver, Canada.
Maia, a former middleweight challenger, has changed divisions and living a great moment in his career. With only two defeats in ten matches in the new division, Demian comes from five straight wins over names like Matt Brown, Gunnar Nelson and Neil Magny. Condit, a former welterweight interim champion, is coming off a loss by split decision against the champion Robbie Lawler.
