Edwin Najmi and Marcio André had an exciting match in the 75kg division of the Absolute Championship Berkut World Grand Prix last weekend in California. André started out devastating, scoring 14-0 in the first round, including two guard passes and a back-take, as well as attempts at neck submissions. In round 2 the Brazilian kept going strong, opening another 7 points’ advantage and locking an armbar in place.
The last round saw a big twist. Najmi seemed in better shape and managed to pass guard. Then he took the back. Trying to defend the back, André turned, and Najmi sank a deadly triangle. Watch it all in the video below.
