Mackenzie Dern arrived at Invicta 26 having won each of her four MMA bouts so far. It would be her debut in the organization, and Kaline Medeiros, who had 14 fights in her career and was coming off an unsuccessful shot at the strawweight belt, was her opponent.
Inside the cage, Dern again showed progress in her striking, with strong blows landing as the fighters were upright. But, following two rounds of mostly stand-up fighting, Dern wrapped it up on the ground after taking down, mounting and locking an armbar in place.

Another eye-catching armbar came from Virna “Carcará” Jandiroba. Also debuting in Invicta, the fighter nicknamed “Demian Maia in a skirt” displayed her fine jiu-jitsu with this sequence: she passed, mounted, attacked the arm and managed to conclude the armbar over Amy Montenegro in round 1.
