This Saturday, Tijuca Tennis Club, the stage of many World Championships and historic duels, welcomed fighters from all of Brazil for another edition of the Rio BJJ Pro.
At middleweight, Oak Jiu-Jitsu leader Luan Carvalho represented Nova União and beat Alexandre Cavalieri for the title. At ultra-heavyweight, Erberth Santos took first in an evenly matched fight with Otávio Nalati of Guigo Jiu-Jitsu.
At heavyweight, Rudson Mateus won the title for team CTA; he defeated Victor Bomfim (GFTeam). At featherweight, Hiago George (Cicero Costha) beat Pedro Clementino (Cantagalo Team). Each male champion won 4,000 reais, with runner-ups receiving 1,000.
Jessica Swanson ruled the women’s section. After beating the middleweight field, the Soul Fighters representative, guided by her teacher Leandro Tatu, took on Karlona Hipólito (Top Brother) in the absolute final and walked away with the top prize of 1,500 reais.
