The 2019 SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship has its place and dates set.
The event will be held November 8 through 10 in Long Beach, Calif., and you are already able to sign up at www.sjjif.org.
“We kicked off enrollment very early, because that makes it easier for the athletes to get visas to enter the U.S. when necessary,” said João Silva, the SJJIF president. “It also helps them buy cheaper plane tickets.”
This year’s edition will offer over 74,000 dollars in prizes, and there’s a change regarding the adult absolute.
“We are splitting the absolute into two categories, both for men and for women,” João said. “There will be an absolute category for the lighter fighters (from roosterweight to lightweight) and one absolute category for the heavier fighters (from middleweight to ultra-heavy). This will attract even more competitors and make the contests even more interesting.”
