Lost in the IBJJF archives, the famous duel between Gilbert Burns and Kron Gracie — a fight that few got to see on video — has been dug up. The two athletes, who currently compete in the UFC, had plenty of memorable encounters, but this final holds a special place in the heart of jiu-jitsu fans.
This pearl of the gentle art had the 2011 Worlds’ lightweight title on the line. Kron, the son of Rickson viewed as the favorite, collided with a hungry Durinho, who, despite the pressure of seeing his idol Rickson in the opposite corner, fought aggressively and bagged the title.
