The 2020 Pan is getting close. With its start slated for October 8, with matches running until the 11th, the first big IBJJF tournament in our new coronavirus world promises to be a success. Despite the travel restrictions in place, a slew of high-caliber black-belts have confirmed their presence.
Among the standouts, we have the ferocious and skinny Mikey Musumeci, who, after competing in three World Championships in lighter divisions (twice at rooster, once at light feather), is enrolled to take on the heavyweights. This means we could see him fight Gustavo Batista, Horlando Monteiro and Roberto Jimenez, to name a few.
The lightweight division is coming in strong, with Jonnatas Gracie, Michael Liera Jr, Renato Canuto, Hugo Marques, Marcio Andre, Edwin Najmi and more.
Rounding out the roster of superstars at this year’s Pan, we have the world’s number 1-ranked black-belt, Fellipe Andrew, plus a bunch of world champions: Paulo Miyao, Otavio Sousa, Matheus Gabriel, Mayssa Bastos, Luiza Monteiro, Talita Treta, Andressa Cintra and Nathiely de Jesus.
The Pan will take place in Florida, at the Silver Spurs Arena. Note that there will be no audience in the arena, and access to the Kissimmee venue will be limited.
