The Pride middleweight GP brought together two former UFC champions in an epic battle, on August 10, 2003. Owner of the under 84kg title in 2002, Murilo Bustamante entered as a last-minute replacement for an injured Ricardo Arona, and put on a sterling display against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, UFC champion in 2007/08.
