In a recent GRACIEMAG.com interview Cris Cyborg remarked that there was still a chance she’d stick around at Strikeforce, where she currently holds the middleweight belt. Days later she finally managed to re-sign with the promotion now owned by Zuffa, the same company that controls the UFC.
“We weren’t coming to a contractual consensus and a year had gone by without me defending my title, which opened the way to my fighting in other events. I already had my bags packed to fight in Brazil on August 6 and to negotiate to fight at an event in Singapore in September. Then Strikeforce called me and we struck a deal,” she revealed to the “Portal do Vale Tudo” website.
