The possibility of Junior Cigano’s next opponent in the UFC being Roy Nelson had already been aired awhile ago. And that’s what should happen. Rumor has it the matchup will feature at UFC 117, to take place August 7 in California. Cigano has already spoken with GRACIEMAG.com about his likely opponent.
“He’s a tough guy. But, as the UFC told me, I’m already next in line to challenge for the title. So this fight doesn’t make much sense to me. But, if they match it, I’ll fight him for sure. I feel he’s dangerous, has shown good work. But he’s not that dangerous,” he said.
With 15 wins and four losses, chubby knockout artist Roy Nelson was the champion of the failed IFL organization. Recently, he won the “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show and then won his lone UFC match. Cigano has 11 fights and one loss. In the UFC, he finished off all five of his opponents before the final bell.
