Yemaso Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy is the most successful BJJ school in the Sacramento area. World champion Marcos “Yemaso” Torregrosa leads the academy’s instruction teaching classes for recreational BJJ practitioners as well as BJJ champion athletes. Yemaso BJJ started with Marcos himself when he realized the importance of hard work coupled with battle tested techniques. As he began teaching all over Sacramento, Woodland, & Cashe Creek, he began building a following of loyal students who have the same goal he has had for himself: to realize their full potential. Marcos realized the importance of having his own academy versus teaching at academies owned nearby, so in August of 2011 he finally opened his own school. Now with his own school, he is free to unleash the potential in all of his students and take them as far as they want to go in BJJ. Each student decides how seriously they will take BJJ, and everyone is held accountable for their goals. It is important to note that even for your avid recreational BJJ practitioner who only wants to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and get in shape, Yemaso BJJ is the best academy to train at, because you will have the chance to train with not just one champion in Marcos “Yemaso” Torregrosa, but various champions of the Yemaso BJJ competition team.
The Yemaso BJJ competition team is by far the most successful team in the Sacramento region with various champion athletes any several: age, belt, and weight divisions. We have champions at the white, blue, purple, brown, and black belt as well as champions at the kids, juvenile, adult, masters, and seniors divisions. Lastly, we have champions from the lightest weight divisions to the heaviest weight divisions. The merit of our hard work is the success we put forth consistently and frequently. In 2012 alone, we have already racked up over 30 medals from tournaments nearby and international. Marcos “Yemaso” Torregrosa is currently ranked 8th in the World for all Masters Black Belts. Elliot Kelly is currently ranked 11th in the World for all Brown Belts. Richard Bothun is currently ranked 16th in the World for all Masters Blue Belts. There are no other BJJ academies in Sacramento that can rival that type of success in the past or the present.
Our vision is to help all students do their personal best given the circumstances they are in, create a bond with all of our students, help everyone stay healthy with jiu jitsu exercise, and create a strong successful BJJ competition team.
