On August 8, GMA member Andre Galvao gave a surprise promotion to one of his students at his San Diego, CA location. This belt promotion was special because it was for a deserving long-time student and the new belt was black.
Student Brian Perry has been training with Galvao since the world champion black belt moved here to the U.S.
Galvao writes, “Brian is with me since I moved to the US and before that as well. He went to Brazil back in 2007 and trained with me for a couple weeks. And way before that back in 2004 I saw him training in San Diego, Ca when he was white belt. Brian used to be always with me since my first time in US/San Diego. I have no words to say right now. I’m really happy for him. Well done man. Now is just a beginner and a new journey.”
