A surfer and MMA fighter – not necessarily in that order –, Ricardo Arona has added his name to the list of participants at Bintang Black Belt Challenge, a surf contest just for Jiu-Jitsu black belts to take place Sunday, the day after UFC Rio at nearby Prainha beach.
Arona, a Carlson Gracie black belt, spoke about the tournament on Oi FM radio station over the weekend. He says he will put to practice what he picked up while training in Hawaii and at other swells, where he surfs with the likes of professional surfers Jeremy Flores, Kelly Slater, and others.
