In an interview on Brazilian martial arts television program “Sensei Sportv” last Saturday, Vitor Belfort spoke out against Chael Sonnen, pointing out falseness and marketing as being the driving force behind his attitude.
“The way I was taught, when you have nothing good to say about somebody you keep your mouth shut. The attention Sonnen’s getting is just what he wants. It’s marketing.”
On the program the Phenom also took shots at Anderson Silva, the man who stopped him in the first round in his bid to take the UFC middleweight belt.
“There’s no point in being arrogant in the lead-up to a fight and then afterwards kneeling in reverence before your opponent; to me that’s just fake.”
Vitor Belfort will next appear in the octagon at the UFC 139 event, where he will face Cung Le.
