An event shipping the cream of the gentle art crop to Biella, Italy to compete from May 13 to 15, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Professional Cup will pay out 60 thousand Euros in prize money. This Wednesday GRACIEMAG.com confirmed a superfight between Kron Gracie and Yan Cabral. This Thursday, another major matched fight was announced by the organizers.
Face to face in Italy will be current Pan American absolute champion Bernardo Faria, of Alliance, and Raphael Abi-Rihan, a black belt from Carlson Gracie team who holds titles like the European Open and Brazilian Nationals.
“With two top-tier athletes who tend to go on the attack against their opponents, it looks like it will be a first-rate matchup,” remarks event promoter Ari Galo.
The event will be held in Lauretana Forum Stadium, pictured above. Cash prizes will be awarded to athletes from white to black belt, female and men’s master categories too. Cash prizes will only be awarded if there is a match in the division in question. The juvenile, senior and super senior divisions will not have cash prizes but will award medals.
The event is open to all academies and sign-ups go until May 5, at a promotional rate until April 15. For further information, click here.
