Set for December 4, at São Jorge Parque in São Paulo, Bitetti Combat 8 “100 years of the Corinthians” card is now complete. The Amaury Bitteti- and Fernando CHakur-promoted event once again will pit some of Brazil’s best fighters against foreigners.
As previously announced, Paulo Filho and Thiago Jambo will face off against seasoned Japanese fighters Yuki Sassaki and Eiji Ishikaua, respectively.
With eight first-round wins in a row on his current record, Glover Teixeira will have to face off with Holland’s Hans Stringer (17w-4l-1d), who has eight finishes on his record. Now the duo from CM System Critiano Marcello and Mario Soldado will be facing Guido Caneti and Jordan Smith.
Soldado’s opponent is a stalwart fighter with wins over the likes of Gustavo Ximu. The USA’s Jordan Smith holds a record of 14 wins, one draw, and just one loss. Cristiano will no longer be facing Alejandro Mandarina, as the Costa Rican is set to appear at the U.S. Bellator promotion. Guido Caneti is from Argentina.
Rounding out the international matchups, Marcelo Nigue promises to represent well his hometown of Santos in facing Argentine Luciano Izzy, another Jiu-Jitsu black belt.
But the excitement doesn’t end there. Corinthians fan Flavio Álvaro faces Ryan Gracie black belt Viscardi Andrade. Eduardo Santos, a Jorge Macaco student, will face BTT beast Toninho Fúria. Last but not least, São Paulo natives Mateus Serafian and Thomas Saldiva will square off in an all-local bout.
