The IBJJF Boston International Open Championship took place this Saturday at the University of Massachusets.
Soul Fighters’ black belt Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa was the adult open class champion.
In the final, Lloyd Irvin’s Jonathan Torres was prevented from fighting by the event’s doctor due to a head concussion.
The Boston Open had another good stories.
In the lightweight division, a nice duel between Augusto “Tanquinho” Mendes and JT Torres, with the latter coming out on top.
Another attraction of the championship was De’ Alonzio Jackson, competing for the first time as a black belt in a IBJJF event.
The Lloyd Irvin middleweight managed to secure a silver medal in the middleweight category, after losing to Vitor Henrique, and a bronze medal in the absolute.
The teams competition saw Kimura BJJ Academy as the big winner, followed by Team Lloyd Irvin and GF Team.
