On November 11, 2009, at the fifth installment of WFE Platinum, lightweight Luciano Azevedo was making his promotional debut against former Pride FC fighter Jean Silva and, after a few minutes of back-and-forth action and technique, he finished with a picture-perfect armbar from within the triangle.
Back at WFE Platinum, Azevedo, the only fighter to date to beat one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in the world and current UFC featherweight champion José Aldo, will look to get back to blazing his trail of victory, against the game Diego Braga, who comes into the fight with three back-to-back wins.
And Braga’s not messing around. With two knockouts and one submission, Diego wants to carry on in his ascension – he has ten wins in his last eleven fights – in pursuing fights on the international stage. The fighter bets that, beating Luciano, there will be nowhere left to go but to the major leagues in the USA.
The two promise to have the fight of the night at the ninth installment of WFE Platinum, to take place May 14 at the Grand Hotel Stella Maris in Salvador staring at 7 pm.
