Relatives already knew about it. Today, Brazilian newspaper “O Globo” brought the idea to public.
According to journalist Cleo Guimarães, Grandmasters Carlos and Helio Gracie, the founding brothers of Jiu-Jitsu, will be honored with statues in Rio de Janeiro, on the world famous Copacabana neighborhood.
“The city has commissioned artist Vilma Noel, but has not set where the monument to Jiu-Jitsu will be built,” the story said.
The inauguration, according to “O Globo,” is scheduled for Oct. 1, 2013, when Professor Helio would be 100 years old.
