While the Rio Open and International Master & Senior championships were heating up the Jiu-Jitsu scene in Rio de Janeiro, Sarah Menezes was in London becoming the first Brazilian female to win an Olympic gold medal in judo. And to make her achievement all the more exciting, the native of Piauí state put on a Jiu-Jitsu clinic in the final, sinking two armbars and nealy coming up with the tapout against Romania’s Alina Dimitru (2008 Olympic gold medalist) from the back.
