Philipe Della Monica
The IBJJF bandwagon made another stop in the Windy City this Saturday, Oct. 12.
The 2013 Chicago Fall Open brought some high level Jiu-Jitsu to Illinois for the third time this year.
Gracie Barra’s black belt Philipe Della Monica was the stand out of the day, winning both the adult black belt middleweight and the open class divisions.
In the weight category, Della Monica managed to tap out Zachary Lenon (ATT) with an armbar from the guard in little over one minute.
The open class final put Della Monica in front of Nicholas Albin (Renato Tavares Association) and the match went the distance, with Philipe taking the gold on the advantages after a 2-2 tie on points (one sweep each).
