It was a beautiful, clear, and sunny 72 degrees in San Diego on the first day of the 2012 Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Championship Trials in San Diego, California, but no one was playing at the beach that day. Instead, hundreds of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fans and competitors flocked to the Point Loma High gymnasium to watch the San Diego Trials unfold. There were some thrilling matches as day one showcased an amazing display of Jiu-Jitsu prowess, athleticism and technique.
