Last December 2, a Sunday, big-time end-of-the-year festivities for Jiu-Jitsu practitioners went down at PUC university in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The occasion was the traditional promotion ceremony of Leão Teixeira Jiu-Jitsu School, marking its 20th year of existence.
The host of the party, José Henrique Leão Teixeira, popularly known as Zé Beleza, promoted dozens of youths across the whole spectrum, from orange to black belts. The big star in attendance was Grandmaster Robson Gracie, who made a heartfelt speech. Marcelo Itagiba—a policeman, politician and Jiu-Jitsu black belt— also put in an appearance.
