The CBJJ held this weekend in the Brazilian city of Florianópolis the Floripa Fall Open. On Saturday the 8th, the black-belts went at it in the gi contests. Erberth Santos again won double gold; the Almeida Jiu-Jitsu beat Henrique Lima of Checkmat in both finals. In the super-heavyweight one he won by points; then in the absolute final he finished from the back.
Other results from the men’s section included Isaque Paiva (Saikoo) beating the featherweight field; Michael Langhi and Fábio Caloi closing it out at lightweight; Isaque Bahiense and Dimitrius Souza winning middleweight and heavyweight gold respectively for Alliance; and Gracie Barra BH’s Claudio “Caloquinha” Mattos winning the medium heavyweight title by closing it out with Augusto “Tio Chico.”
Ns Brotherhood dominated the women’s section, with Talita Treta and Luiza Monteiro deciding not to do the absolute final. Nathiely de Jesus (Cícero Costha) and Cláudia Do Val (De La Riva) won middleweight and heavyweight gold respectively, as well as absolute bronze.
