Erberth with four out of his 12 gold medals won in three years of Rio Fall Open.
After a Saturday featuring the gi contests, Sunday the 2nd of April was time for some of the BJJ elite to duke it out without the gi at the Rio Fall Open.
For the third straight year, Erberth Santos won the four possible gold medals for his team, Almeida Jiu-Jitsu. Talita “Treta” Nogueira (NS Brotherhood) showed on Sunday that she is back at her full capacity by winning gold twice.
In the ultra-heavyweight division, Santos choked out Vinicius Barros (Gracie Barra) from the back to secure the title. In the absolute, after winning his first two matches by submission, he faced Marcos Junior (GFTeam) in a rather tight bout that went his way following a 2-2 tie on advantages.
Talita Treta was pitted against Karlona Hipólito in her two finals, including the medium heavyweight division, and came out on top both times. You can find the complete black belt results of the Rio Fall Open below.
