Jacaré teaches Rodolfo an MMA trick. GRACIEMAG.com
This gathering of titans happened Feb 16 in Rio de Janeiro.
Rodolfo Vieira, a fan of Ronaldo Jacaré since his earliest rolls on the mat, always dreamed of training with the most famous fighter from Amazonas. But something would always get in the way: One didn’t have his gi, or the other didn’t have the time. Last month at Pedro Rizzo’s gym in Manguinhos, Usina dos Campeões, Jaca and Rodolfo finally shared a ring like old friends.
It happened after their interview, the cover story for Graciemag’s upcoming Brazilian print edition. Jacaré was in a certain hurry, but he remembered he needed to show Rodolfo, who is ten years his junior, some tricks of UFC-focused BJJ. The art of throwing one’s opponent’s weight against the mesh, for example, was something Jacaré took some time to learn. Like a good teacher, Jacaré showed Rodolfo the shortcut so he doesn’t struggle with the same thing in his career, whose victorious debut took place in February.
