Since the announcement of the fusion between the UFC and the WEC, moving all the divisions to parent company Zuffa’s meatier event and decreeing the end of the WEC, some fighters from the soon-to-be-defunct promotion have already been announced on UFC cards.
That’s the case with three-time Jiu-Jitsu world champion Fredson Paixão, who holds two wins in the WEC. The matchup against the dangerous Pablo Garza, who has just one loss in ten fights, should take place in the final of the twelfth season of the The Ultimate Fighter reality show, to take place December 4 in Las Vegas, according to MMAJunkie.com.
The bout will be at lightweight, though, as Fredson’s usual featherweight division will not figure in the UFC until January.
