Held on September 7th, the Brazilian National Team Championship shook the Arena da Juventude in Rio de Janeiro. Widely regarded as the most exciting event on the Brazilian calendar, this year’s edition brought together competitors representing their flags in best-out-of-five showdowns.
The black and brown belts were combined. In the adult lightweight division, gold went to Nova União, which had Saikoo’s Isaque Paiva on its side as well as up-and-comer Alexsandro Sodré. They defeated in the final the GFTeam squad, which had Bebeto Oliveira and Rony Fialho. In the adult heavyweight division, the Atos Team, with Cláudio Calasans and Caio Almeida, beat GFTeam, which had Luis Felipe “Xilique” and Marcos Junior.
In the masters age group, GFTeam dominated both divisions. They won the lightweight contest over Soul Fighters. At heavyweight, a GFTeam squad featuring Arthur César “Gogó” and Rafael BBzão bested the Nova União team, which had Thales Leites, André Marola and more.
Overall, GFTeam confirmed their favoritism and claimed the title again, followed by Nova União and Atos.
