The weekend was not all about the ADCC, back in England.
In California, the IBJJF and the USBJJF organized the American Nationals, in Dominguez Hills, with gi and nogi competition.
As usual, GMA member school dominated the actions, conquering tons of medals.
Professors and students gave their best to go home as champions.
The result of all this effort showed in the Team’s standings.
At the gi competition, Rodrigo Medeiros’ BJJ Revolution Team came first, folllowed by Ribeiro JJ and Gracie Barra. At the nogi event, Gracie barra took the first place, BJJ Revolution came second and Ribeiro JJ third.
Individually, our GMAs did great.
Paragon’s Ricardo Miller was the nogi senior 2 black belt medium-heavyweight champion. Franjinha also won the gi meddium-heavy senior 2 division.
ATT Vero Beach’s Renato Tavares won the nogi senior 2 lightweight division.Tavares was also the gi black belt senior 2 lightweight and absolute champion.
Gracie Barra Delray Beach’s Rodrigo Mendes won the nogi senior 1 black belt ultra-heavyweight division and the absolute. Mendes also won the gi super-heavy division and came third in the absolute.
Pesadelo BJJ’s Stephen Hall was the adult nogi black belt ultra-heavy silver medalist. He was also the gi ultraheavy champion.
Gracie Barra’s Phillipe Della Monica was the adult nogi black belt lightweight champion. Monica won also the gi lightweight.
Yemaso BJJ’s Marcos Torregrosa was the silver medalist on Della Monica’s category.
Nova União Arizona’s Kristina Barlaan was the bronze medalist at the nogi adult purple belt open class and silver medalist at the featherweight division. She had the same results at the gi event.
Team Beauregard’s Ian Beauregard won the middleweight blue belt nogi division.
Ribeiro JJ’s Saulo Ribeiro won the black belt senior 1 absolute and heavyweight divisions.
Tucson BJJ’s Demetius Ramos was the master black belt gi medium-heavy champion.
Team Megaton’s Wellington Dias came third in the adult nogi lightweight division.
