This last Saturday, August 3, GMA Toronto BJJ competed at the 2013 IBJJF Toronto International Open.
With more than 70 competitors representing the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu team in Canada plus teammates from the U.S. Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu team, Professor Jorge Britto split the team in two and conquered first and third place overall at the competition. The teams were listed as Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu and Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Intl.
Professor Jorge Britto says, “This was a huge accomplishment and we are really proud to represent Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu in Canada !”
Alongside Professor Jorge Britto athletes like brown belts Thomas Beach and Matthew Pasquale, purple belts Dante Leon and Khalil Fadlallah just to name a few earned gold medals contributing to the accomplishment.
Last year the team won the first place trophy at the 2012 IBJJF Toronto Open under the Toronto BJJ banner alone. The Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu team is growing in Canada and Toronto BJJ is a proud representative.
