New York, October 13th, 2017— Brooklyn Heights has just gained a safe and supportive space where children and adults can benefit from the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice. Considered to be one of the best non-violent self-defense martial arts for children and adults, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotes confidence, discipline, and respect among peers. Ranging from beginners to advanced levels and competition training, Gregor Gracie, Rafael Costa and Fabio Coelho’s new studio offers a program focuses on a comprehensive, well-rounded approach to Jiu-Jitsu.
From the conceptual understanding of techniques, to skill acquisition and application, the Gregor Gracie Jiu-Jitsu program helps students of all experience levels to reach their individual goals. Classes consist of a teaching progression including basic conditioning, technique skill-building, movement drills, and live Jiu-Jitsu sparring.
Bullying prevention program
With special attention towards bullying prevention, the Gregor Gracie Jiu-Jitsu program for teens and children focuses on non-violent self-defense techniques to neutralize threats without violence. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, one out of every five (20.8%) students reported being bullied in 2016. A key goal at the Gregor Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is to instill in children unshakable confidence so they can overcome bullies with respect and kindness.

Gregor Gracie
From the prominent martial arts Gracie family from Brazil, Gregor has been competing since childhood. With titles including two-time World Champion, Pan-American Champion, and two-times Brazil National Champion, Gregor has decided to share his knowledge by becoming an instructor while also staying a top competitor.
Rafael Costa
Training BJJ since the age of 11 in Rio de Janeiro, Rafael became a top athlete, moving to NYC and competing nationally along with medaling in the World Championships. Rafael is a well-respected instructor of BJJ along with being an active competitor.
Fabio Coelho
Moving to NYC just three years ago, Fabio has continued to compete and medal in BJJ tournaments while also teaching seminars in both Brazil and the US. Fabio has a loyal student following and continues to train competitively.
