The press conference preceding UFC 116, to take place this Saturday in Las Vegas, brimmed with hot revelations. Among them, once again organizational president Dana White made it clear one of his biggest stars will never again set foot in the octagon to fight. White was addressing Chuck Liddell, who was knocked out in his last outing, against Rich Franklin.
“He will never again fight in the UFC,” stated the UFC top brass bluntly.
And the winner of the bout between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin can already look ahead to his next opponent. The one to win the matchup to definitively decide the divisional champion will lock horns with Cain Velasquez, who is coming off a knockout win over Rodrigo Minotauro.
If it depended on Brock, he would be Velasquez’s next opponent, as he is 100% confident in prevailing over Carwin.
“I’m going out there to fight. No one in the world threatens me. He’s knocked out a lot of people on the way, is a big guy, has wrestling skills, but it’s my time. This is my era and he’s not the one who’s going to end it,” says the giant.
