Rio Grande do Sul will be the first region in Southern Brazil to host the Wallid Ismail’s Jungle Fight promotion. On Dec. 21, Tesourinha Arena will serve as stage to Jungle Fight 47, dubbed “Jungle Belt” because of the two title fights headlining the show, which will also feature two semifinals in a Grand Prix tournament. Seven fights are on the card for the night.
In the main event of the evening, Itamar Rosa will fight for the middleweight belt against Ildemar Marajó. In the other title bout, for the flyweight strap, Sidnei Abedi will take on Arinaldo da Silva. Moreover, the tourney will determine the final of the lightweight GP.
In the evening’s international bout, Dimitry Zebroski will enter the cage to defend his home nation’s colors against the USA’s Sean Cubby. In the other semifinal, Lucio Curado and Ary Santos will do battle for the other berth in the final.
To Jungle Fight president Wallid Ismail, Jungle Fight 47 will be a can’t-miss affair.
“Besides the title fights and exceptional level of the fighters, Jungle has partnered up with Engage Eventos, which will go a long way in enhancing MMA’s standing in the region. We’re going to put on a spectacular event to cap off 2012,” he said.
