A black-belt since 2013, when he was promoted by André Galvão, Keenan Cornelius has now advanced even further. This week he received the first degree on his black belt from his master. The graduation ceremony took place at Atos Jiu-Jitsu in San Diego, California.
“I received my first degree on my black belt after 3 years under profesor @galvaobjj. Three years went by so fast but I’m excited for the next three,” Keenan posted online.
Keenan arrived at Atos in 2012, soon after leaving Team Lloyd Irvin. He was already getting attention due to great results at brown belt, and kept it up at black to win titles like the No-Gi Worlds and the Pan, as well as a bronze medal in the ADCC.
