The experienced teacher, who has been practicing BJJ since 1981, has long been known for having an offensive guard, and, among the techniques up his sleeve, his favorite is the sweep from the open guard. In a variation of the butterfly guard nicknamed the bolonian, Bolão has sent many a great champion flying.
