A Jiu-Jitsu black belt who marked an era in competition Jiu-Jitsu, Leonardo Santos prepares for his next MMA outing. On the 30th of this month, the Nova União fighter faces off with Maximo Blanco at the 15th installment of Japan’s Sengoku Raiden Championship.
“Maximo is a dangerous fighter, hits hard and is coming off four-straight knockouts. It’s a dangerous fight, I’ll have to be alert the whole time. I’m going to train to bring him into my game plan, which is on the ground, and from there get the win,” he says.
GRACIEMAG.com witnessed part of Léo’s preparations, but also seized the opportunity to record one of the fighter’s ground techniques, with exclusive insight into carrying them out. Léo demonstrates a sweep that leads to a kneebar finish.
