In late October, some of Brazil’s top BJJ fighters took part in the Rio BJJ Pro, an IBJJF tournament featuring cash prizes. Among the winners was Luan Carvalho of Oak Jiu-Jitsu.
Competing in the tough middleweight division, Luan had to advance through his bracket and yet keep some of his stamina to face Alexandre Cavalieri (Alliance). The final was a close one, but Luan gained an advantage with a better takedown game, eventually winning on points.
