This year’s Abu Dhabi World Pro, set to take place April 18–22 in the Arab Emirates, will again feature a few superfights involving BJJ legends. This week saw the announcement of the match between two world champions who are also former UFC fighters: Márcio “Pé-de-Pano” Cruz and Gabriel “Napão” Gonzaga.
Cruz has two absolute world championships and one ADCC title. Gonzaga was the best heavyweight in BJJ in 2004, and fought for the heavyweight UFC belt in 2007 against Randy Couture.
The other fights announced are Megaton Diaz vs. Helio Moreira, Alexandre Freitas vs. Baret Yoshida and Kenny Florian vs. Vitor Ribeiro.
