The shorts the Nogueira brothers will be wearing this December 10 at UFC 140 will have a stiffer price tag, this time around.
According to a post on the website of his company, EBX, the billionaire Eike Batista will be sponsoring the brothers Rodrigo Minotauro and Rogério Minotouro for their UFC outings this Saturday in Toronto, Canada.
Minotauro and Minotouro will face Frank Mir in the heavyweight division and Tito Ortiz in the light heavyweight division, respectively. Brazilian newspaper “O Globo” broke the news this weekend. The payout has not been announced, but it should bring in between 20,000 and 30,000 dollars for each fighter, based on deals previously signed by the brothers.
In November, Eike Batista entered in talks with the Brazilian twins and confirmed his interest in investing in outreach programs involving MMA and Jiu-Jitsu for kids and the underprivileged.
On the occasion, Rodrigo Nogueira addressed the partnership with Eike Batista. “We spoke about outreach projects and managing MMA fighters’ careers; we were really stoked about having made contact,” said Minotauro.
