They promised to set the jungle alight, and that they did. The two most heavily anticipated fights on this Saturday night in São Paulo combined technique and emotion, and brought the crowd to fever pitch.
In the under-77kg (155 lbs) fight, Edu Pamplona conquered yet another win, with his unanimous decision over Edilberto Crocotá. Pamplona showed his usual heavy hands and dropped his opponent to the ground with a low kick.
The under-70kg GP crowned Yuri Marajó, two years as a Jiu-Jitsu black belt and owner of strong muay thai skills. In the first of his fights, Yuri withstood heavy strikes through the guard thrown by till-then-undefeated Massaranduba, until the Ataide Junior student sunk a fully-extended armbar. In the final, all it took was Yuri landing a kick to Morales’s belly for the Peruvian to ask for the tab.
