On veteran’s Day, GRACIEMAG pays tribute to all of those who served.
We thank you for your bravery and sacrifice.
Among our GMA members, we have many who served and we chose one of them to exemplify the connection between Jiu-Jitsu and the military.
Piet Wilhelm, black belt under Renato Tavares and leader of Triton Fight Center, in Broken Arrow, OK, entered the US Marine Corps in 1996, where he served in the infantry and then became head Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor at a Headquarters Battalion.
After a honorable discharge, Piet followed his passion for fighting and reached the rank of BJJ black belt in 2010.
Here is a video of Piet teaching a choke.
Enjoy and celebrate with us.
