As previously reported on GRACIEMAG.com, Paulo Filho was dropped from the upcoming Bellator card. According to Sports Illustrated, Jay Silva will be take his place in facing promotional champion Hector Lombard.
Silva (5w, 2l) just became a free agent after leaving the UFC, where he suffered back-to-back losses. American Top Team representative Lombard (24w, 2l, 1d, 1nc) will be a hard nut to crack.
On his exit from the card, Paulão told GRACIEMAG.com: “It seems the event took too long in sending out the letter for me to show at the consulate and there may have been some failure on the part of my managers. So, the visa won’t be ready in time. I’m really upset because I’d been training hard. I did everything just right; I don’t even know what to say,” he said.
“I was kind of beat up by it, but I’m not going to stop training. Something good will turn up,” he said in finishing.
