Saturday was an exciting one for Jiu-Jitsu fans following the action at the Brazilian National Championship, at Rio de Janeiro’s Tijuca Tennis Club.
In the absolute black belt division, Rafael Lovato and Bernardo Farias converged paths for the final, promising excitement on Sunday. But the big noise came in the quarterfinals, when Tarsis Humphreys took on Murilo Santana. Tarsis opened the scoring, but Murilo shot ahead on advantage points and, after getting the back mount, nearly overturned the score.
