Thiago “Pitbull” Alves (ATT) already has an opponent for his next outing in the octagon. The Brazilian faces John Howard at UFC 124.
Thiago had medical issues and hasn’t tasted victory since 2008, but still in some way or another commands some prestige – at least until UFC 124. The owner of feared fists and a knockout artist, Pitbull at least managed to convince his boss Dana White to let him stay in the welterweight division, as our collaborator Junior Samurai noticed. However, now he’s going to need to put on a good display – read: not give up his back on the ground, and if possible, get the knockout.
But he’ll have his work cut out for him. John Howard has four wins in five fights in the most famous cage in the world, and nineteen career fights, fourteen of them triumphs.
UFC 124 is set to take place in Montreal, Canada, on December 11 and the a main event features welterweight champion Georges St.-Pierre defending his crown against Josh Koscheck.
It’s time for the Pitbull to bite. Will he manage to? Comment below.
