The 6th American Cup is scheduled next April 20-21, in San Jose, California. The event organized by black belt Claudio França is also offering an extraordinary opportunity for athletes and Professors to get more familiar with the rules of competition Jitu-Jitsu.
The IBJJF Referees Director, Alvaro Mansor (a 5th degree black belt), will be in Northern California on April 19 to conduct an exclusive rules seminar. The cost to attend is $ 60, but you get a 50% off discount if you are also competing.
Mansor talked a little bit about the course and the importance of knowing the rules with accuracy: “We teach prior to major championships, this helps not having possible problems during the event, because people go to seminars and update themselves and thus minimizes the errors. When an athlete knows the rules well, he or she uses the rule to win a fight. I know many who do it and fight like that, they know what they have to do to earn points, not being punished and not letting the opponent score; they know the rule deeply, those athletes become complete not only because of their techniques, which are obviously important, but because they know the rules of the sport they practice.”
