Among the techniques taught is this armlock shown by Renzo for you to apply when your opponent is inside your closed guard with their arm flexed, trying to escape the traditional armbar.
Regarding attacks from side control, Leo Tunico likes to trap his opponent’s arm with the lapel and evolve into an armbar — a position that got a lot of praise in week three and which you will do well to revisit.
