The Samurai MMA Pro is back with its third installment, promising to electrify Los Angeles County. Samurai Pro Sports, in conjunction with Black House MMA’s Ed Soares, is presenting the Samurai MMA Pro 3, this Friday, July 13th, at the Culver City Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium, 4117 Overland Ave. in Culver City, CA. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the first bout starts at 8:00 pm.
Founder and CEO Lucas Pires, who is a Jiu-Jitsu black belt and runs Werdum Combat Team in Marina Del Rey with his best friend and business partner, Fabricio Werdum, always throws a great event. But what adds some real flair to his shows are not just the professional fighters on the card, but also the “fans” in the audience. With Fabricio Werdum in attendance, there is sure to be some comedic energy thrown in, and at this particular show, he will be there with fellow UFC fighters Michael Bisping, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and also Cris Cyborg, and King Mo.
Word on the street is that Glover Teixiera might also make a special guest appearance, and with he and Rampage fighting in Brazil in the Fall, and with Rampage being the character that he is, this should make for some pretty interesting escapades and verbal shenanigans come fight night! “The best part about all of this is that there is always an opportunity to meet the fighters and get some autographs signed,” Lucas says.
Getting back to the business at hand, which is the Samurai MMA Pro 3, the nine-bout professional fight card features a main event between Strikeforce alum Magno Almeida and Darren Smith. The co-main event is another exciting Strikeforce veteran, Marcus Kowal vs. Mike Kubeska. Weigh-ins are on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Natureba Juice Bar at 2415 Artesia Blvd., Redondo Beach, CA 90278. The public is welcome to attend.
