News of Maurício Shogun undergoing knee surgery last week caught the fight world by prize. The UFC medium heavyweight champion’s manager Eduardo Alonso guarantees the fighter is doing fine.
“He’s doing great, thank God, but we’d like to keep things on the down low for now. The important part is that everything’s fine, he’s happy and with his family. Shogun is taking a rest and will be back better than ever. I can’t give you a return date, but it will be before anyone would have expected. We’re taking care of things and would rather keep things quiet for now because rest is fundamental,” explains Alonso.
The manager stresses the fact that the injury occurred during the title fight with Lyoto Machida and that the UFC is giving its full support.
“It happened during the fight. We have full backing from the UFC and doing everything just right,” he says in finishing.
